If you go jamming too many clothes (jeans/pants and long-sleeved shirts) into the drum, you're going to come out with a tangled mess (clean, but tangled). With that said, I believe it is more of "user error" than anything else. The only thing that happens sometimes seems to be a pattern with all front loader washing machines and that's chothing sometimes gets tangled up upon removing from the washing machine.
